Yikote Elephants
**We are a group of 70 women in Xakao village who are skilled in basketry.** This skill has been passed down through generations and we pride ourselves in producing intricately patterned baskets with elephant pattern designs which sets us apart from other weavers in the region and gives us access to different markets both locally and internationally. Because there are many of us in the group- all highly skilled- we can meet our clients needs in terms of volumes and quality. The beautiful natural dyes that we use to colour our baskets are harvested sustainably as they are prepared for us by elephants who expose the roots while feeding.
Our Products
We have mastered the challenging skill of weaving elephant patterns from these palm leaves and have been able to access new markets because of it. We pride ourselves in supplying customers with our quality baskets as far away as North America! On most days you can find us weaving together at our plot in Xaxao village.

Life with Elephants Tour Group
An Ecotourism enterprise based in Eretsha Village offering Elephant Aware cultural tours. Activities include mokoro rides, learning about Conservation Agriculture techniques, experiencing traditional dancing, donkey cart rides, visiting a local blacksmith and storytelling with the village elders.
