Diyoveya Honey

Diyoveya Honey was established in 2021 by 9 beekeepers in the villages of Seronga, Gunotsoga, Eretsha and Beetsha. Diyoveya is a hambukushu word for ‘abundance of elephants’, signifying that the group is producing honey in an area with many elephants and that this business opportunity came about because of the large numbers of elephants in the region. We produce, package, and sell organic honey, a highly sought-after product in the market, especially by tourism businesses in and around the Okavango Delta. Our honey is organic, as the beehives are kept in an environment that allows bees to feed from the natural environment. Our product has a conservation story around elephants, and this makes it unique and differentiates it from competing products and brands. Our honey is mostly used for consumption, as an alternative healthier sweetener.
